Yulia Angelo sat in a small cage hanging thirty-five feet above the stony dungeon floor. The bars in her cage were spaced just far enough apart to allow her to slip her bare feet out just far enough before her shackles caught on them and prevented any further movement. Her cramped quarters forced her knees up to her chin as her back pressed against the opposite end of her cell. Her arms hugged her lower shins while her forehead rested on top of her knees. Her eyes opened for the first time in five hours as she woke from her nap. She picked up her head and looked out of the window across the room from her.

LIFE IN A MILKING BARN It's not an easy life.
At the start it was so scary! I remember when they told me it was time to get undressed. That’s a really strange experience -- taking off clothing, knowing it's for the last time in my life. My heart was beating fast.
Then they guided me to my location in the barn, and I saw all these workers with tools and equipment, waiting at my station to get me set up properly.
Someone put a little footstool in front of my milking rack. They helped me to step up on it, turn my back to the rack, and get seated. They took the footstool away and I knew I wasn't getting down -- that made my heart beat faster. After a bit more time one of the ladies said they were ready to get my arms fastened in. I watched closely as they installed the first cuff behind me on my right. I put my arm into the cuff when it was ready, and held steady while they tightened it down. After that, we did the same with my left arm. The left one was
